But from her observations of the weather, to the sale of the Winder slaves to details of the suicide of George Wilkins, Peggy Nottingham presents an inside view of the Eastern Shore during the middle of the nineteenth century not provided by other accounts. Doris Adler has added narrative to explain relationships, to place families in certian houses, and add surnames where there may be confusion.
