An Original List of Taxable Property Within the County of Northampton

Transcribed and indexed by Frances Bibbins Latimer 50 pages A small, but important book which lists the names people and items to be taxed in the year 1796. Sometimes in addition to listing taxable property occupations, parent’s names, former slave masters of several free Negroes, and residences of those to be taxed are included. Several Accomack County residents are charged for taxable items in Northampton County and those names also appear on this list.
